About the CEO
Can you tell us a bit about yourself? For example; how old you are, what your background with flying in general is and what brought you to creating your own Virtual Airline.
Flying is not only passion for me but also an art of reaching the skies. It all dots back to the day when I used to see planes rocketing out, outside my school window, as the approach path to the airport used to go above my school and house. One fine day, a friend of mine introduced me to the world of virtual aviation and months later it struck me India needs better VA’s that’s how Vistara Virtual was born.
How it started
When did you start your Virtual Airline?
We started first by doing some mistakes with a very shaggy website, but then we closed it down for a few months and reopened it on 22nd May, 2017 with a new and fresh crew center called vCrew.
Success
Do you consider your Virtual Airline successful?
Yes, I definitely think we are successful. Pilots love our crew center and they help us grow
Best moment
What is your most interesting experience with your Virtual Airline, what has happened that makes you think so?
The most interesting thing that happened to us is that it’s not every time that people will love your work, sometimes they won’t attend events, sometimes they wouldn’t care to look at the tours. But if we market your product well then yes, it’s a deal.
Hard times
Did you have any bad experiences with your Virtual Airline?
Yes. The competition with other VA’s is too damn high. To always compete you need have your best foot forward and something it turns out to be weird and strange.
Pilots coming and going
What do you think of your Virtual Airline’s flow of new and leaving VA pilots? Is there something you do to attract more pilots? And why do you think some pilots leave your Virtual Airline?
Some pilots just love our approach to Virtual Airline. They think we are one big family. Once the pilot start flying they don’t really leave. Others just register account but never fly.
Fleet and liveries
What types of planes does your Virtual Airline use and do you have all the custom liveries available for your VA?
In real world, the airline uses fleet of A320 CEO AND NEO’S, but we give our pilots a range of option to fly any aircraft they wish to fly, so we have custom liveries for almost every jetliner
Online networks
Does your VA fly on a network? If so, what do you think about it? Do you feel it supplements the general flying experience, what do you think of the network in general and is it required for your pilots to fly on this network?
Yes we normally fly on network during our events. Flying on network is highly fun and it boosts the pilot engagement on the VA.
Flight tracking
Do you use any flight tracking software? If so, which one, and are you happy about the service it provides? Would you like to improve it for example?
Yes, we use SmartCARS, kACARs and XACARS but we think SmartCARS is the best!
Developer offers
Do you make use of the offers some developers / distributors have for Virtual Airlines? Do you think these developers / distributors have good offers? And does it fit your Virtual Airline policy?
No we do not use any offers provided by developers. We prefer to be Original!
Website
Does your Virtual Airline have a custom made internet web page or do you use, for example, PHPVMS and equivalents? Are you happy about your VA’s web page?
Yes, we use Phpvms. We damn happy about our crew center
The year ahead
And lastly, what are your expectations for your Virtual Airline in the coming twelve months?
We are not really expecting anything big. We want to just grow at the rate which we are right now and make more successful events come past.
