Answers are published as the CEO wrote them, spelling included.

  1. About the CEO

Can you tell us a bit about yourself? For example; how old you are, what your background with flying in general is and what brought you to creating your own Virtual Airline.

My name is Chris and I am a born-again aviator. I currently work in the aviation industry in my country and I simply love planes. I have been playing flight simulator from back in the day of MS FS2002 until now. I have done some real-world flying and I also love to travel. I have had three (3) virtual airlines in the past, with the longest being opened for six (6) years. Due to real word commitments of staff and a change of heart for the airlines we represented we had to close our operations. I love the virtual airline hobby and I will continue to support it.

  2. How it started

When did you start your Virtual Airline?

Virtual Oneworld Alliance was started in March on 2020, amid the pandemic.

  3. Success

Do you consider your Virtual Airline successful?

Yes! I think our virtual airline is successful so far and I do not doubt that it will grow, to become a leader.

  4. Best moment

What is your most interesting experience with your Virtual Airline, what has happened that makes you think so?

Our Virtual Airline is governed by a wealth of aviation professionals. Our team comprises of real-world Air Traffic Controllers, Pilots as well as those who are Air Traffic Controllers on VATSIM, and not forgetting those who also work within various sectors of the aviation industry in the real world.

  5. Hard times

Did you have any bad experiences with your Virtual Airline?

To date, we have not had any real bad experiences.

  6. Pilots coming and going

What do you think of your Virtual Airline’s flow of new and leaving VA pilots? Is there something you do to attract more pilots? And why do you think some pilots leave your Virtual Airline?

We are a new virtual airline, and we have in place a marketing strategy to promote or airline to get more pilots on board. But it’s still a bit early.

  7. Fleet and liveries

What types of planes does your Virtual Airline use and do you have all the custom liveries available for your VA?

We’re a multi fleet airline, due to the fact we represent 13 World Class International Carriers. We have also included the Retro Fleets from some airlines including the British Airways Concorde fleet and the Qatar Airways Private Jet fleet.

  8. Online networks

Does your VA fly on a network? If so, what do you think about it? Do you feel it supplements the general flying experience, what do you think of the network in general and is it required for your pilots to fly on this network?

Our Virtual Airline flies on the VATSIM network, but we also welcome persons who fly on the IVAO network as well, due to the operating region of some carriers.

  9. Flight tracking

Do you use any flight tracking software? If so, which one, and are you happy about the service it provides? Would you like to improve it for example?

We currently use smartCARS tracking software. Its one of the best systems available currently but there is room for improvement.

  10. Developer offers

Do you make use of the offers some developers / distributors have for Virtual Airlines? Do you think these developers / distributors have good offers? And does it fit your Virtual Airline policy?

We have not been offered that opportunity as yet.

  11. Website

Does your Virtual Airline have a custom made internet web page or do you use, for example, PHPVMS and equivalents? Are you happy about your VA’s web page?

Our Virtual Airline is custom built by myself and runs on the PHPVMS platform.

  12. The year ahead

And lastly, what are your expectations for your Virtual Airline in the coming twelve months?

We are hoping to be in the top 3 virtual airlines within the next twelve months, and continue to provide excellent service to our users. Hopefully, we can partner with a developer who can provide more custom-built modules for the virtual airline.
